Yoko Miwa

What a fun day with this amazing woman.

Internationally acclaimed pianist/composer Yoko Miwa is one of the most powerful and compelling performers on the scene today. Her trio, with its remarkable telepathy and infectious energy, has brought audiences to their feet worldwide. Their latest CD, 2019’s Keep Talkin’, showcases Miwa’s fine playing and artful compositions and the trio’s uncanny musical camaraderie. DownBeat gave the recording four stars, calling it “a beautifully constructed album” and noting “the drive and lyricism of a pianist and composer at home in bebop, gospel, pop, and classical.” JazzTimes also reviewed the album favorably, praising Miwa’s “jaw-dropping degree of technique.” The album enjoyed seven weeks in the top 10 on Jazz Week’s charts, much like its predecessor, Miwa’s 2017 release Pathways, which also made Jazz Week’s top 10 for several weeks.

LOVE her!!!

John Turturro with "Desus & Mero"

The moment I walked to the backroom dressing rooms, I had the biggest smile on face ..

They have these the laugh especially Mero (Joel Martinez) that is so contagious your belly hurts :)

I was hired to to John Torturro as he has joined the cast. How cool is that??

He’s REALLY FUNNY!!! John had me laughing so hard . On set they had to cut so many times because people couldn’t keep a straight face

The show features longtime acquaintances Desus Nice (Daniel Baker) and The Kid Mero (Joel Martinez) chatting with guests at the intersection of pop culture, sports, music, politics and more, as well as giving their take on the day’s hot topics in front of a small live studio audience from New York City. Upcoming guests include Lin-Manuel Miranda, Charlize Theron, Amy Poehler, Gabrielle Union, Seth Rogen, Spike Lee, Bill Hader, Regina Hall, among others.

Desus and Mero reconnected online in the early days of Twitter, where they unleashed their potent personalities and found themselves kindred spirits. That led to stints on Complex and MTV, the Bodega Boys podcast, and a daily late-night show on Viceland. The duo continue to host their Bodega Boys podcast.

Nik Wallenda

The Wallenda Family was at it again.

This time Nik Wallenda walked the tight rope over an erupting volcano in Masaya Nicaragua!

Dick Clark Productions Flew over 300 people down to Managua Nicaragua to film Nik & his lovely wife Erendira fly over Volcano Masaya LIVE on ABC.

WE all had to wear gas mask as the toxic fumes from the volcano were no joke.

Like the pro that they are Nik walked that tight rope like he was born to :)

Just another day for the Wallenda Family.

Billy Joel

What a treat to work with Billy Joel again!

After all these years, he is in the best place I’ve ever seen him!

He has a wonderful wife that has given him a 4 and 2 year old and he just beams when he talks about them. His dressing room has pictures of all of his children and at 70 he is the happiest that I have ever seen him.

He still sells out EVERY show he performs and really puts is heart into his music.

Having sold more than 150 million records, Billy Joel ranks as one of most popular recording artists and respected entertainers in the world. Throughout the years, Joel’s songs have acted as personal and cultural touchstones for millions of people, mirroring his own goal of writing songs that “meant something during the time in which I lived … and transcended that time.”

Dreams do come true!

Kim Clijsters

It was my sheer pleasure to work with Kim Clijsters again at The US Open. We worked together at The ESPY Awards after the birth of her daughter Jada.

She has won a total of 41 singles titles, including 4 Grand Slam titles: three at the US Open (in 2005, 2009, and 2010) and one at the Australian Open (in 2011).
I am so grateful to work with the best tennis players in the world as tennis is a big part of my life & I am humbled to be a part of theirs.

Now if only I could get their backhand down :)

Rachel Dratch

Mo Williams’s All Star Storytime!

What a fabulous event at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.

Mo Williams has written several children’s book & brought a few of his celebrity friends to read them and act out the role.

Willems first became interested in cartoon art when he was just a child. When he was 3 or 4 he started to draw and create his own characters. Willems enjoyed writing stories about his characters to share with others. However, he was disappointed when adults would praise his work out of politeness. To fix this dilemma Willems started writing funny stories. He knew that even polite adults could not fake a laugh. So when the adults laughed he knew his story was good and if the adults still gave polite comments then he knew his story was bad.

The celebrity friends that were there and I had the honor to work with are:

Anthony Anderson

Yvette Nicole Brown

Rachel Dratch

Cameron Esposito

Tony Hale

Greta Lee

Thomas Lennon

Joey Mazzarino

Natalie Morales

Fred Newman

Oscar Nunez

It was a beautiful day at The Kennedy Center … The Watergate Hotel was pretty awesome too :)

Amazon Prime Day Concert

What a show we had for Amazon Prime Day!!!

It was pure Girl Power :)

The artists were:

Taylor Swift

SZA

Due Lipa

Becky G

Hosted by Jane Lynch & Tyler Oakley

Tyler was the coolest kid I’ve worked with in years! He was kind and so generous to the whole crew. Respect is the first word that comes to mind. I can see why he has 6 million followers!

Tyler Oakley attributes his success only in part to his accessibility as a young gay man. "It's not all about me being gay. It's kind of like an underlying theme for me [with gay life] sprinkled throughout the videos."[1] He sees Ellen DeGeneres as a role model: "She embodies what I want my experience to be and my influence to be, where it's a positive one, it's a happy one, it's not something about the bad parts of life or the downsides of a lot of things. She's using her influence for good, and everyone knows who she is, what she stands for, and that she is a lesbian."[1]

It was an amazing night to be back with my Fremantle Production family again. Also to work for the best director Glenn Weiss and producer Laura Hill.

This is a perfect example why I love my job!

Here is Tyler doing MY makeup :)

Nik & Lijana Wallenda High-Wire Crosses Times Square!

In 25 years of working or just passing through Times Square I have never experienced SILENCE…

The high-wire act with brother & sister Nik & Lijana Wallenda was an emotional roller coaster.

The walk marked Lijana’s first high-wire act since 2017 rehearsal accident, which left her severely injured with every bone in her face broken.

A crowd of New Yorkers anxiously watched as Nik and Lijana Wallenda — seventh-generation members of the famed Flying Wallendas circus family — attempted to cross a 1,300-foot-long wire, strung between two skyscrapers in Times Square on Sunday night.

The never-before-attempted stunt was broadcast live on ABC in a two-hour special, Highwire Live in Times Square, hosted by Erin Andrews and Michael Strahan

They beat out every network that night!

Working with this whole family gave me a feeling that if this woman could get back up there with all she has been through, then I too have the faith to move mountains.

It all started with a mustard seed :)

The Tony Awards 2019

My absolute favorite show of the YEAR!!!

The 73rd Annual Tony Awards were held on June 9, 2019, to recognize achievement in Broadway productions during the 2018–19 season. The ceremony was held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City and was broadcast live by CBS. James Corden served as host

Bob Mackie was honored and The Cher Show is a MUST see!

Stephanie J. Block even won the Tony for best actress for the show.

James Corden is an absolute DREAM to work with. He is a riot! I found myself in tears on many occasions just his quick dry humor.

I LOVE the Tonys!!!!

Theather people are so professional and are a true joy to work with.

Can’t wait until next year!

Robin Hood Foundation 2019

This year the Robin Hood Foundation turned into The Game of Thrones.

We had a White Walker that had a fight with Jon Snow and we raised almost 70 MILLION dollars!

The Annual Benefit is the largest fundraising event in the United States

Themed “Robin Hood to the Power of You”, the evening included a concert from Shawn Mendes in coordination with a light show from the Empire State Building, a stand-up set from Sebastian Maniscalco, and surprise performance by Pharrell

Funds raised at the benefit support more than 200 community partners working to fight poverty in New York City

“We set out 31 years ago to fight this problem of poverty and I am proud that we are still attacking it with the same vigor that we did on day one, and with a much bigger army,” said Robin Hood founder Paul Tudor Jones. “Yet again, this city that has given so many of us so much has come together to give back. We had a hell of a night, and raised more money than we did last year — that’s the power of bringing everyone together to do good.”

The Robin Hood benefit is the largest gala raising money to fight poverty in the United States. Donations from the gala account for the majority of Robin Hood’s annual operating budget. Thanks to the generosity of Robin Hood’s Board which covers its operating costs, 100 percent of the funds raised tonight will go directly to Robin Hood’s more than 200 community partners who run on-the-ground programs to fight poverty across New York City. “Tonight we came together to give the poverty fight what it needs,” said Robin Hood CEO Wes Moore. “These are vulnerable times, 42 percent of New Yorkers have experienced poverty at some point over the past three years. The exponential impact of Robin Hood’s work has never been more important, and I am so proud to lead this community of caring and impact that brings together school teachers and portfolio managers, accountants and social workers.”

Guests entered the event through a hallway lined with 7,000 backpacks donated by Spreetail filled with school supplies – which will be donated to students in need through Robin Hood’s community partners. The evening program highlighted one the community partners, Relay Graduate School of Education, which empowers the next generation of educators to achieve success by working directly in low-income communities while earning their masters degree and building lasting connections within the communities they serve. Robin Hood helped found Relay in 2007, making it the first graduate school of education created in New York in the past 80 years.

Yasha Morgan, a KIPP NYC graduate and 8th grade science teacher who went to Relay and now teaches in the classroom he attended, spoke from the stage saying, “None of us would be here without the communities that raised us. We are not independent. We are interdependent. I didn’t find success on my own. You didn’t find success on your own. No one finds success on their own. Someone invested in you. Now you owe it to be the pillars of someone else’s success.”

Entertainment included a performances by Shawn Mendes, comedian Sebastian Maniscalco, who was introduced by Gayle King. Kenan Thompson introduced Pharrell who gave a surprise performance of his hit songs “Happy” and “Freedom”. Eli Manning along with the Robin Hood Teen Council introduced Shawn Mendes who performed his new single “If I Can’t Have You” in coordination with a music-to-light show from the Empire State Building in partnership with iHeartMedia. The Teen Council is a community of students who meet monthly to learn about tangible ways to fight poverty. Shawn Mendes also held a post-gala concert for benefit attendees and Arrow members of The Forest.

Data from Robin Hood’s Poverty Tracker — a unique representative survey of households in New York City oe systems, structures, and the narratives that hold and keep people back.

The organization, founded in 1988, unveiled a new strategic vision at the 2019 No City Limits conference in February which will focus on lifting households in New York City from poverty measurably and sustainably so New Yorkers can achieve economic stability.

About Robin HoodFounded in 1988, Robin Hood finds, fuels, and creates the most impactful and scalable solutions lifting families out of poverty in New York City, with models that can work across the country. Robin Hood invests nearly $120 million annually to provide legal services, housing, meals, workforce development training, education programs, and more to families in poverty in New York City. Robin Hood tracks every program with rigorous metrics, and since Robin Hood’s Board of Directors covers all overhead, 100 percent of every donation goes directly to the poverty fight. Wesley Snipes

You know when Weley Snipes walks into a room!

He’s as fierce as they come.

I was TV surfing last night and I came across “To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything”… OMG the man had me in stitches !

Not only does he play a badass vampire but he can play a cross dressing Queen like no other.

Wesley is such a gentleman and he was so excited as soon as he walked in the door.

A true professional and I was thrilled to be his groomer on set.

Noxzema Jackson will be forever in my heart.

Go Team Wesley :)

Mary Lambert for Pet Sematary

First let me say how much I respect Mary Lambert. She is force to be reckoned with. She is one powerful woman & SMART!

Like David Fincher, filmmaker Mary Lambert started her career by directing Madonna's music videos. In the early days of MTV, she directed "Borderline," "Material Girl," and, eventually, the groundbreaking video for "Like a Prayer." She also did videos for Janet Jackson and Bobby Brown, as well as commercials, video games, and Saturday Night Live shorts. In 1987, she made her famous.

Stephen King clearly loves her work & she went on to direct Pet Sematary ! and 2.

I’ve been to her apartment & have seen her paintings SHE painted… Yes, the woman does it all and with style!

I’m honored to call her my friend.

LOVE Mary Lambert :)

Gloria Steinem

What a pleasure it was to work with this incredible woman.

Her show on Broadway “Gloria” will not disappoint. There was not a dry eye in the house at the end of the night.

Gloria is the first truly strong woman that I admired & she is a powerhouse!

Gloria is a writer, lecturer, political activist, and feminist organizer. She travels in this and other countries as an organizer and lecturer and is a frequent media spokeswoman on issues of equality. She is particularly interested in the shared origins of sex and race caste systems, gender roles and child abuse as roots of violence, non-violent conflict resolution, the cultures of indigenous peoples, and organizing across boundaries for peace and justice. She lives in New York City, and just published her first book in over twenty years.

It was a true honor to just be a small part of her life, even if it was only for the weekend.
