What a show we had for Amazon Prime Day!!!
It was pure Girl Power :)
The artists were:
Hosted by Jane Lynch & Tyler Oakley
Tyler was the coolest kid I’ve worked with in years! He was kind and so generous to the whole crew. Respect is the first word that comes to mind. I can see why he has 6 million followers!
Tyler Oakley attributes his success only in part to his accessibility as a young gay man. "It's not all about me being gay. It's kind of like an underlying theme for me [with gay life] sprinkled throughout the videos." He sees Ellen DeGeneres as a role model: "She embodies what I want my experience to be and my influence to be, where it's a positive one, it's a happy one, it's not something about the bad parts of life or the downsides of a lot of things. She's using her influence for good, and everyone knows who she is, what she stands for, and that she is a lesbian."
It was an amazing night to be back with my Fremantle Production family again. Also to work for the best director Glenn Weiss and producer Laura Hill.
This is a perfect example why I love my job!
Here is Tyler doing MY makeup :)
Ahhh The Tony Awards..my favorite award show of the year!
This is year was a bit crazier as it was held at the Beacon Theather. No backstage area and all the celebrities had to be held in the Green room across the ally at the Beacon Hotel.
This is my 18th year as Department Head and I couldn't be any prouder.
I have the best team and they all are on such good behavior and just honored to be there.
This year the biggest stars show up. Barbara Streisand presented to for BEST play which was Hamilton! Oprah won for best Musical Revival so of course she was there to accept the award.
Hamilton swept the Tonys this year with 11 wins!
Meg Ryan came in for touch ups and we helped her with her hair & makeup. Marlee Matlin stayed with us for quite some time as we fussed over her & even fixed her gown.
Common even hung out for awhile & was as charming as ever.
Our director Glenn Weiss hit another one out of the park! He truly is the best director on the planet.
I LOVE this show & hope to continue as long as they run :)
